A standard bearer of the Central African Republic's Presidential Guard (in red tunic) participating in a French army parade in 2010. The counter-marching soldiers in red caps are from France's 1st Spahi Regiment, descended from the North African cavalry in French service, who occasionally got the Foreign Legion out of a sticky situation. The dark blue cloaks worn over the white burnouses are those of the old Moroccan Spahis (the Algerian and Tunisian regiments wore red).
