RMLI and their rifles Empty RMLI and their rifles

I am painting a RMLI corporal with white, tropical helmet (NOT the Wolsey) and the date is 1905-11. The problem is that he is carrying a Long Lee-Metford rifle. Can anyone furnish a date when the RMLI were issued SMLEs? I know that the rifle issue was sometimes slow, especially to the Marines, but I would appreciate a date if anyone can furnish one. Thanks.
