These are from Formation badges of WWII Britain, Commonwealth and Empire by Howard Cole.
For no good reason that I can think of I coloured them in, also redid a couple.
I now can say that I’ve reached the level of ‘train spotter’ for doing something that’s a pointless waste of time, especially since all of these are quite easily available on many websites.
No disrespect  meant to any trainspotters.

Well, I like them. I don't think I've seen colored versions of some of these.

I have tried to find several copies before colouring the b/w line drawing and have found that the variations are quite numerous, obviously some must be repro’s.
I have decided to attempt a couple of more pages that may be of interest to you.
Again not all are original drawings and the colouring may be a little of but they are intended as a guide rather than a solid reference. I placed a direct link  but they still may be too small to read the text.

Three more pages, again I've tried to find actual example to compare and changed some of the badges which were difficult to see,
Colour shades are a little suspect but like the previous posts and any future post they are just intended as a rough guide.

Another two pages from Formation Badges of WWII.
Some are turning out better than others, I've tried checking the badges against original examples but the variations are legion, compounded by modern copies used by re-enactment groups, although on the whole these copies tend to be true copies unlike the non too genuine dealers.
It would also help if I knew what to look out for so I'm afraid what you see is what you get with maybe a little artistic license added on.

Again a little different to some examples but I believe them to be in general fairly accurate.
In the book the 11th AA Div is more like a wet pigeon or the German Imperial eagle of the pre 1918 era, the examples that I have seen show the Third Reich eagle, which is what I’ve tried to illustrate.

Another four pages and with a few liberties taken regarding colour, again I’ve tried to fix some old poor quality images of original badges, with a some degree of success along with some new drawings.
I’m beginning to wonder if I should have left the original b/w images also, just placing small coloured images next to the original b/w images.

Where I can I’ve tried to touch-up poor quality images and draw fresh examples of some variations, some of these variations may also have been found on vehicles.
There are a few sites such as Diggger History that has some additional information.
I was surprised at the lack of good examples of actual div signs for Australia and New Zealand.
As for the badges themselves I have tried to reproduce them as near as possible [for me] to the original examples  with varying degrees of success and where information was limited I have left well alone.

Thanks, Seemed a good idea at first!
Here'a another two pages
I’ve found a few variations for the 1st and 3rd divisions, some may however be vehicle markings, I have seen a reference to some units wearing simplified badges similar to the ones used on their vehicles but no photographs of then in use.
The 2nd Divs has a variation of a walking/running penquin but again I have failed to find any good reference for this badge.
I will leave that debate for the experts.

Pages 80 & 81, again these are just to try and help give some idea of the badges with variations that's best left for the experts to determine which were actually worn, promlem being many badges were authorised for units but never were actually worn or issued.
A veritable mine field to determine genuine badges from made-up replicas but as said, these may help toward giving some idea of the general design to start from.
