Sam Browne. Belt inventor, and Staff in Afghanistan 1979

Identified simply as the man in the centre of the photo, make your own mind up as to which he is, but minus one arm it has to be either the man with the beard (4th from left)and no hat or the one two to his left wearing a Sam Browne belt.
The variety of uniforms clearly show the leeway offered to British Army officers on campaign. It's a nice sharp photo.
