Afghanistan Police 1879

Hi Guys,
This is a really nice photo of an group of Afghanistan Policemen outside their station in 1879 from the British Library collection.

The clarity of the image is excellent and shows good detail.

Note the non-uniformity of dress and armament, I suppose then they just used what they could get.

Although the caption states Afghanistan Police ,it could equally be a Provincial Police Force.

Also notice the cuff braid rank insignia on the fellow with the pistol in his belt and the guy next to him.
