Sean ,great illustrations,the 1934 Nepalese officer ,do you think that the jacket would have been worn at the start of WW2 as field uniform or would they have worn shirts(as in your earlier Nepalese sepoy pic)? Shorts or breeches worn , British tin hats? Ranjit.

I reckon the uniform followed the Indian Army pattern fairly closely. The 1934 illustration is from a parade picture so I would discount this for general field wear. Certainly by the time Nepalese troops fought around Kohima they were equipped and dressed as per contemporary Indian troops. Would love to hear more about them if anyone has Nepalese information.
