Does anyone know if the Burma Rifles were issued and wore helmets at the time of the 1941 Japanese invasion ? Or wear the Gurkha style slouch hat? Paul.

It seems most likely that the BR wore the steel helmet as it was standard issue for combat. I can't say I've seen a lot of photos of them wearing it but then again I haven't seen a lot of photos of the Rifles period. Those that I have seen show a helmet being worn.
