An inexplicably yellowish plate of Bolivian uniforms from the pre-1914 era. The French influence (kepis/red trousers/black tunics for officers and dark blue for other ranks) was strong because a French military training mission was assigned to La Paz from 1905 to 1911. Then an Imperial German mission arrived under a Major Kundt. This went home for obvious reasons in 1914 but Major Kundt returned to Bolivia in 1921 and became Minister of Defence there four years later. He was noted for his efficiency in organising parades.

The illustrations (more to follow) are:
Top row: general (gala); general (service); general (field)
Middle row: infantry officer (field); infantry soldier (gala); cavalry officer (gala)
Bottom row: cavalry soldier (gala); artillery officer (gala); artillery officer (field)
