Schematic Uniforms

I am preparing a schematic uniforms of Britain and her colonial army. Today I have posted one of them (The Gloucestershire Regiment). If there is any correction or suggestion, plz notify me.

Is this for officers or other ranks? I don't believe other ranks wore shoulder cords nor did they have cuff knots.

Yes they are good illustrations. Are you perhaps using Peter Harrington's "British Army Uniforms in Color" as a partial source. It provides separate full page McNeill, Isbbetson, Holloway and Payne prints of nearly all the British regular line regiments full dress of 1908-14. Less comprehensive on cavalry though.

One easily made correction - shouldn't the King's Liverpool Regiment (as a royal regiment) have dark blue collars as well as cuffs?

After 1881, Militia battalions had gold rather than silver lace, i.e. apart from the addition of the letter 'M' on the shoulder strap they were identical with regular battalions.

I have some other comments, but they will depend upon exactly what period you are illustrating. Volunteer uniforms in particular were very changeable across the home service helmet period.

Thanks everyone for your valuable suggestion. I prepared these by myself. Ruhl's schematic uniforms pattern inspired me. Thanks T1, I will update the lace color of Militia Battalions. Period is 1901. Dear buistR, I am using windows paint software for doing this. There is a small color problem (specially dark blue and black) in paint. ChrisF202 dear, all are officers' (specially Lieutenant) uniform.

Nice illustrations, have you tried some of the free alternatives to paint that's out there?
I've noticed that Serif [http://www.serif.com/FreeDownloads/] have stopped giving away older version for what they call starter programs,
The older software was great, don't know about this new stuff though.
I've tried to get away with Gimp [http://www.gimp.org/] and Inkscape [http://inkscape.org/] but found them awkward to use, although others swear by them.
Maybe Pixia [http://www.ne.jp/asahi/mighty/knight/aboutpixia.html]....
Any way there quite a few programs out there to replace paint that may have better colour recognition..
You, or anyone looking for a free program could also have a look at;

I've found that a program with layers makes life a lot easier, doesn't make me draw better though.

Nice illustrations,
Centre plate for the badge would be an antelope, for officers in silver with gold collar and chain on black velvet.
Due to page restrictions it would be a little hard to see though.
Tunic collar badge, bear and ragged staff which was the badge of the Warwickshire Militia, the badge was from the Old Neville's crest and from the formation to the territorial system worn only by line battalions.
A little further useless information is that the regiment served for a time as marines/ship infantry.
Have you moved away from paint yet ?
