Boxer picture
Thank you for the picture of the Boxers. It looks to me like the drawing is a composite of various Chinese soldiers from different sources. There might not even be a single true Boxer (civilian rebel) among them!
The first two on the left might be a more modern unit in the Chinese army. The third appears to be the Chinese copy of a western drum major. The fourth, the man in the background, looks very much like the British-raised Chinese units, who wore straw hats. The soldiers on the right could be Boxers or Chinese army.
This is all just me guessing, of course.

True.
On reflection Boxers is wrong.
I think they are all Imperial Chinese soldiers, including a drummajor at the front.
