Turkish Uniforms Empty Turkish Uniforms

Recently visited the Military Museum in Istanbul. Brilliant.
Here's a couple of uniforms I photographed.

Turkish Uniforms Empty Turkish ranks

Post  wfrad Sun 15 Nov 2009, 7:05 am

Seems that the Turkish army has being sidelined in the book department with regards to insignia, I don’t believe that I have seen anything printed in English that shows the full Turkish ranks pre WWII.
Military press advertised a reprint of a war office booklet that I have yet to see published, I ordered a copy but after waiting a couple of months cancelled the order.

Described as a 1916 photograph with a 1939 face pasted in(!)

1920 - don't know if they like Hitler or just the moustache, but you see a fair amount of folks with the postage stamp on the upper lip.

1927 next. I don't know if he just got out of bed or out of the pool, but he sure isn't going to let himself be out of the picture

The watermark on this nice photo was bothering me, so I took it off. Looks much better now.

Turkish Uniforms Empty Iranian - Maybe!

Thanks for looking closely.

The people in the back definitely appear to be Iranian, with their fur hats. Some of the people sitting in front look Turkish, but some could be Iranian. I'm not sure. Do you know of any photos showing Iranians in fezes? I am only sure of photos showing Iranians in fur hats.

My best guess now is that everyone in the photograph is Iranian except for some of the people sitting in front.

Beautiful collection of photos, thanks very much.
Perhaps the front row are Turkish embassy staff, government officials.
The second row appears to be Iranian officers or officials, with soldiers behind.
