Can anyone help with any details of the locally raised forces of the Virgin Islands during WWII?

Sean, I have never heard of any such defense units created after the Danish handover in 1917 and the creation of the USVI National Guard in 1973. I believe there was a USMC Defense Battalion assigned to the US Virgin Islands during WWII and perhaps maybe some of the Puerto Rican 65th Infantry were sent there (the Puerto Ricans were also sent to defend the Panama Canal Zone during both world wars)?
