Re: New illustrations
I am especially interested in the pictures of the US Atomic Energy Commission Police officer. AFAIK the US Dept. of Energy (to which the Atomic Energy Commission was renamed in 1975) has never had a centralized police force aside from the "Office of Secure Transportation" who's plainclothes but heavily armed special agents protect non military nuclear materials in transport. Each nuclear facility is responsible for maintaining its own security force for internal security while the above mentioned federal agents handle the security while the nuclear material is being transported from site to site. In the military whichever branch of service owns the particular nuke handles it's security, ex. Air Force nukes are protected by the US Air Force Security Forces (formerly called USAF Security Police and before that the USAF Air Police) and Navy nukes are protected by either US Marines or US Navy Master at Arms ratings (who handle law enforcement and force protection in the US Navy).
Would you happen to have any details on the force ex. when they were created, when they were disbanded, etc?

Re: New illustrations
I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your questions.
The illustration is based on a photograph found on Corbis or Getty.
I have tried to locate information on the 'unit' for the text to the plate, without success. As stated on the plate, I'm not even sure that I have the right colours.
An interesting problem for someone in America to advise on perhaps.

Brilliant! Adds new meaning to the old term "redcoat". Season's greetings to everyone!
