Fijian uniforms 1939-41 ?
Seen a photo from 1934 of the Indian platoon of the Fiji defence force in light khaki tunic , shorts , puttees and sun helmet , plus what looks like leather belts.
Not sure if the 1903 bandolier equipment was worn.
Same uniform worn 1939-41 or the shirt , trousers and 1937 webbing (+ helmet) worn ?
Can't find any photos, the Fiji Museum not much help, they reply to emails but want a formal written snail mail request.

Is this the one? No webbing/bandolier but there's an NCO's sash which may be tricking the memory.

Yes that's the photo. There is a photo from 1943 which shows Fijian home guard wearing the bandolier, that's why I thought the 2 battalions may have had them 1939-40.

The Roosevelt picture is a nice find.
I know the post is for WWII but opening several posts for Fiji just seemed unnecessary.
Hope you don't mind, but if you wish the following can be moved.
