Netherlands Schutters

Hi Sean - just browsing through your latest set of new uniform figures. As always, a great mix of novelty, interest and colour.

I noticed one scherpschtter uniform of the 1880s. If anyone is particularly interested in these Dutch volunteer units they might like to check the online link given below. The 17 plates by Frans Smits cover virually all branches of the Netherlands military from the late 18th century to 1999. Just click on the relevant silhouettes to blow-up each colour figure together with a descriptive note in Dutch.

They are another excellent source of information.
But its so hard to find stuff on those little volunteer units that seem to interest me so much.
The Dutch are good at publishing information but I think I need a visit to Delft, the Leger Musem, to satisfy my requirements.
