Gilbert and Ellice islands armed constabulary 1919-1947.
Hello,
found these recently, not too sure of the colour , perhaps light khaki with a blue edge. Cannot see any bandoliers so i assume 1 or 2 small ammo pouches. Rank insignia- red ?

Nice find Pat,
looks like a khaki drill coloured uniform , with perhaps blue (for constabulary/police) border and red cummerbunds.
If they had bandoliers wouldn't they be worn ?

The Brigadier inspects is late WWII, unfortunately.
The uniform is khaki drill, sometimes a little darker in colour. The distinctions are red. The interesting feature are the inverted chevrons to show rank, on both arms.

I wonder if there is a coloured postcard somewhere showing this uniform?
Surprised the distinctions were red, i thought most constabulary/armed police would have dark blue.
