The size of the policeman's cap kinda it look like the one currently worn by the Russian military.

Looks like the excessive size, which most people would likely associate with a comic opera, must be a peculiarly Cuban thing, much like the square top cap is to the Poles.

I'll say this much for the cartoonish size of the caps. If they waterproofed them, the men wearing them wouldn't need umbrellas in the rain!

Different cuffs on the Guantanamo example. Earlier pattern? (1916 vs the 1930s-40s here on UOTW) Just a Cuban variation? Or an American modification? I did a lot of looking and came up with zero on the hypothetical existence of an American police force at Guantanamo.
