Uniform regulations confirmed 30 November 1892.

Tunic (kaftan) - no buttons, closed by small hooks, military uniform pattern, gray cloth, with a standing rounded collar of green cloth, green cloth piping down the tunic frontand cuffs, stamped metal (silvered) oak leaves in the corners of the collar.
Pants - Short, for tall boots, of the same cloth as the tunic, without piping.
Overcoat (plashch) - dark-gray army cloth, to 5 inches below the knees, closed by small hooks, without collar tabs, with green piping on the fold-down collar, in the corners of the collar the same insignia as on the tunic collar.
Forage cap - Black cloth with a green band and green piping around the top, with a visor; on the crown a metal (silvered) badge of crossed oak leaves.
Working or classroom shirt - of gimnasterka pattern, of black guards cloths.
Belt - black lacquered leather, with an blackened iron buckle.
Boots - with long shafts to the knees, black, personnally procured.
Hood (bashlyk) - Camel-hair cloth, trimmed with worsted tape of the same color. [You can see the ends of the hood wrapped bandolier fashion around the torso of the figure on the left - M.C.]
For practical exercises in summer, the work shirt and pants are of unbleached cloth.
