POLICE UNIFORM REGULATIONS
Short title
These Regulations may be cited as the POLÏCE UNIFORM
REGULATIONS
Definition
2. In these Regulations, "member" means a member of the Police Force of North Australia.
Uniform and Clothing of members
3. Subject to regulations 3 and 5 of these Regulations, member whilst engaged on official duty (other than that of attendance at the Supreme Court of North Australia and the Supreme Court of
Central Australia) shall wear uniform and clothing which shall be in accordance with the following requirements:-
(a) Hat: Sombrero with a brim 3V- inches wide.
(b) Tunic: To be fashioned like a shirt with shoulder straps and pockets on each side of the front. The buttons on the tunic shall be of a descriptor is to be specified by the Commissioner of Police.
(ç) Tie: Khaki
(d) Boots: Tan with elastic sides.
(e) Belt Leather. The width of the belt shall be not less than three-quarters of an inch and not more than one inch.
Badges.
4. (1.) Each member shall possess a badge of such a description as is specified by the Commissioner of Police by notice in the Gazette.
(2.) Each badge shall have on it a number, and the number on the
Badge allotted to any member shall be different from that on the badges allotted to other members.
(3.) Badges shall -be worn on the tunics of members on such occasions as are specified by the Commissioner of Police.
Exemptions by Commissioner of Police.
5. The Commissioner of Police may, in respect to such times or places as are -directed by him, exempt any member from compliance with the provisions of Regulation 3 of these Regulations or may exempt any particular member from compliance with the provisions of Regulation 3 of these Regulations for any specified period.
Exemptions of and by members in charge of Police Stations.
6. Subject to any directions of .the Commissioner of Police, any member in charge of a Police Station shall not be required to wear the uniform and clothing specified in regulation 3 of these Regulations on such occasions as he deems it unnecessary to do so, and may, in respect to such times and places as are directed by him, exempt any other member under his control who is stationed at that Police Station.
Uniform to be worn when in attendance at Supreme Court.
7. When engaged on the duty of attendance at the Supreme Court of North Australia or at the Supreme Court of Central Australia, members shall wear white drill uniforms with tan boots and shall comply with such other directions relating, to their uniform and clothing as may be given by the Commissioner of Police.

POLICE UNIFORM REGULATIONS
Short title.
1. These Regulations may be cited as the POLICE UNIFORM
REGULATIONS.
Repeal.
2. The POLICE UNIFORM REGULATIONS made on the eleventh day of November, One thousand nine hundred and twenty-nine, as amended by regulations made on the fifteenth day of January, One thousand nine hundred and thirty, are repealed.
Definition.
3. In these Regulations "member" means a member of the Police Force of the Northern Territory.
Uniform and clothing of members.
4. Subject to regulations 6, 7 and 8 of these Regulations, members whilst engaged on official duty shall wear uniform and clothing which, in regard to the articles specified, below, shall be in accordance with the following requirements:
(a) Hat: To be of Sombrero type having a brim approximately 354 inches wide.
Tunic: To be of Khaki material and to be fashioned, like a shirt with shoulder straps and pockets on each front side. The buttons on the tunic shall be of a description to be specified by the Commissioner of Police.
(c) Tie: To be of Khaki material
(d) Trousers: To be of Khaki drill material.
(e) Belt: To be of leather and approximately three-quarters of an inch in width.
(f) Boots: To be tan coloured without toe caps.
Hat Badges.
5.-(1.) Each member shall possess and wear a hat badge of such
a description as is specified by the Commissioner of Police by notice in the Gazette.
(2.) Each hat badge shall have a number marked on it and the number of the hat badge which is issued to any member shall be different from any of the numbers marked on the hat badges issued to other members.
Exemptions by Commissioner of Police.
6. The Commissioner of Police may, in respect to such times or places as are directed by him, exempt any member from compliance with the provisions of regulation 4 of these Regulations or may exempt any particular member from compliance with 'the provisions of regulation 4 of these Regulations for any specified period.

7.. Subject to any directions of the Commissioner of Police, any member in charge of a Police Station shall not be required to wear the uniform and clothing specified in regulation: 4 of these Regulations on such occasions as he, deems if unnecessary to do so, and may, in respect to such times and places as are directed by him, exempt any other member under his control who is stationed at that Police Station from compliance with the provisions of regulation 4 of these Regulations.
