British Army Officers Rank Feb1902-Nov1902

In February 1902 a new system of  rank for Officers was introduced, to be worn on the cuff of the service dress.
This system only lasted until November 1902 when it was discontinued.
I don’t believe that I have seen any uniform bearing this insignia.

One can understand why they only lasted a short time WF! In his detailed work "The Dress of the Royal Artillery" Alastair Campbell describes them variously as a "curious and ugly system" and "so peculiar that they were abolished almost at once; not many service dress jackets adorned with them can ever have been worn". The French system of braid rings on the cuff shown in your earlier illustrations was far more rational.

Not so great, hit a stone wall with the formation badges, 8th Army Troops Engineers on page 140 is quite elusive.
Found no badges resembling any of the descriptions in the text to refer too, the nearest badge of any description is the one on the fleet ensign.
May just leave well alone and continue with the others.
