NSDAP rank 1933
Illustrations tend to be very basic for the 1933 ranks.
Some have the shoulder cords described as twisted cord while others show the plain army type cord, so I've shown both types of cord.
For example Davis is in favour of twisted cord whilst Kahl shows plain, decide for yourselves.
At best the chart gives some idea of the early NSDAP ranks which only lasted for a very short period until 1934.
Doesn't quit compare with what I've done but further detailed illustrations are hard to find, most are post 1934..
Below is the list of ranks from Kahl's Uniforms and badges of the Third Reich: NSDAP.
Blockwart – single silver braid on bright brown fabric, edged front and bottom with silver collar cord.
Zellenwart – as Blockwart with additional braid.
Ortsgruppenleiter – silver embroidery with red stripes on brown fabric with silver cord collar edging, also silver cord shoulder strap with on knot.
Kreisleiter – as Ortsgruppenleiter but with an extra knot on the shoulder strap.
Gauleiter – gold with orange embroidery with red stripes set onto a light red patch with orange cord collar edging, shoulder cord gold, with a single knot set onto light red strap.
Landesinspektor – as Gauleiter, but shoulder straps set onto crimson strap.
Reichsinspektor – as Landesinpektor but two instead of one and also two knots on shoulder cord.
Reichsorganisationsleiter – as collar and shoulder badges as Reichsinspektor but with three inverted gold braid chevrons on the left lower arm.

NSDAP 1937
This Chart shows the ranks as by their appointments regarding command level, taken from the 1937 NSDAP manual.
Titles and rank badges could vary, for example the Hauptstellenleiter insignia appear to change between Reich and Gau levels.
