Early Swedish camouflage Empty Early Swedish camouflage

Post  Sean Wed 11 Jun 2008, 4:48 am

I have seen a picture, dated a couple of years after the end of WWII, of a Swedish soldier wearing a camouflage smock, reminiscent of the Heer pullover style. The pattern of camouflage seems to be like that worn by the current Norwegian army.
Was this a general issue item to the Swedish army or a specialist jacket, or was it an aberration?
I have most of the references on camouflage uniforms and it isn't mentioned in any of them.
Can anyone help with information.

Early Swedish camouflage Empty Swedish Camuflage uniforms in early days after WWII

Just bought a book in Sweden with the titel : " Eliteförband i Norden " written by Lars Gyyenhaal, ISBN 978-91-85183-76-0 : The titel in english is :" Elite Units in the North"
The book is in Swedish, no translation to english: But it is easy to read as I am dane.
The book covers special units from Sweden, Demark, Finland and Norway.
The early swedish PARA-troopers used the British Denison Smock ca. 1950. They also used the Maroon Beret. The book contains pictures of this.
At that time other Swedish uniforms were Grey (I think, not that sure )
