Picked this up from ebay somewhat unsighted, and couldn't believe the who the author turned out to be.
I couldn't scan the whole page in as it would have torn the pages.

Thanks for sharing these
Thanks for sharing these. I suspect JH got hold of US and/or NATO uniform guides from the Cold War.

very nice find
Quite a find.
A few years ago I purchased the black & white illustrated Soviet Army Uniforms & insignia 1945:75 by A. J Barker, only to find most of it to be a word for word copy of the 1961 War Office publication of Soviet Army Uniform, which has colour illustrations.

All back to Kharitonov
And the War Office simply reprinted Soviet army uniform regulations. All the pictures come from Soviet army uniform charts (you know, the rows of identically posed figures like paper dolls). You might as well go to O.V. Kharitonov's 1960 book OBMUNDIROVANIE I ZNAKI RAZLICHIYA SOVETSKOI ARMII 1918-1958 GG. This itself reproduces Soviet uniform charts and regulation illustrations to good effect. Try the links at the bottom of the attached screenshot. I don't know if they are still active. (You have to retype them; they aren't hyperlinks.)

thanks for the info.
Very interesting, sometimes it's better just to stick with the original.
