Russia: Chuguev regiment late 18th-early 19th centuries
From a manuscript regimental history of the Chuguev Regiment. The regiment was originally raised from cossacks in southern Russian/the Ukraine, but by the time the manuscript was compiled in 1835, it had been turned into a regular lancer regiment. Except for the 1835 picture, I think the depictions are copied from Viskovatov's multivolume history of Russian army uniforms, which was first being published about this time. Thanks to the National Russian Library in St. Petersburg for the digitization of this and other rare items.
