Portuguese Army cards
There are quite a number of cards on the Portuguese Army.
I will slowly add to this as I find them.

Well, maybe I can help.
[quote="Sean"]There are quite a number of cards on the POrtuguese Army.

A kind person sent me dozens of these Ribeira (sp?) cards. I've haven't sorted carefully to know if what I have is a complete set.
But to save you the effort, I will go out on a limb and say that I promise to scan them for the community in the near future. So if you like, you needn't work to post more of the Portuguese cards unless you really want to. But I'm pretty sure my set does NOT include the WWII subjects in gray uniforms that seem to be by another artist rather than Ribiera.

Re: Portuguese Army cards
Thanks very much for these. Portugese uniforms remain one of the more difficult areas to research.

OK, this is what I got...
These were put out by the Arquivo Historico Militar from 1983 to 1989 in at least 28 sets, each set containing 9 cards. The series title was UNIFORMES MILITARES PORTUGUESES - COLECCAO DE AGUARELAS DO CORONEL RIBEIRO ARTHUR. It turns out I have sets 1 through 20 and 25 through 28. I'm missing sets 21, 22, 23, and 24, (cards Nos. 181-216) and don't know if there were any more than 28 sets (highest known card No. is 252). DelCampe already helps out by providing Nos. 185, 195, 202, 211, and 215, so for me five of the missing 36 cards are already accounted for.
From at least 1989 to 1990 the Arquivo Historico Militar put out another series with a very similar title: UNIFORMES MILITARES PORTUGUESES - COLECCAO DE AGUARELAS DE ALBERTO DE SOUSA (spelled Souza on the red card envelope for each set). Each set was also nine cards, and I have sets II, III, and IV. I'm missing set I and there was at least a set V since DelCampe shows a card No. 38. This series covers uniforms from just before WWI to after WWII, so all those cards showing gray or light blue twentieth-century uniforms are from this series.
So now I guess I'll be on the lookout for Ribeiro 181-216 and Sousa 1-9, 37-45. I don't know how rare these are, so I have no idea how long the search may last.

These are cards Nos. 20...
I can identify these as Souza cards 20, unknown (probably Set V), unknown (probably set I), 28, 32, and 23. The original cards don't have the red frame borders, that's what the card was lying upon when photographed.

Zip files for 206 Ribeiro Arthur cards
I scanned Sets 1 through 20 and 25 through 28, put the captions underneath, and compiled into three zip files, which can be downloaded from RapidShare:
Ribeiro_1-100
Ribeiro_101-180
Ribeiro_217-252.zip
I don't have Sets 21 through 24 (card nos. 181-216), but from the internet I was able to find 8 of the missing cards, which I post below. I may have a few more, but I don't have their numbers or identifications, just a picture of the front, so they are not included.

Souza's series of postcards covering 1900-1950, Sets II, III, and IV.
I bundled what I have of Souza's cards at "http://rapidshare.com/files/411817324/Souza2-3-4.zip.html" . These are sets II, III, and IV. There are at least a Set I and Set V that I don't have. Souza covered the Portuguese army from 1900 to WWI, then jumped to 1947. The 1947 cards are also a markedly different style, more lifelike, so that I imagine they were all done from actual subjects.
