British Commonwealth, but what force
These are obviously pictures taken from a newsreel of a visit by Elizabeth II to a middle eastern territory of the Commonwealth (1950s?). The mounted policeman belongs to which Force? Palestine 1940s?

Re: British Commonwealth, but what force
Yemen? Oman?
The man standing next to HM in the first photo is wearing the uniform of a British colonial governor. The governors of the 14 remaining British Overseas Territories still have a prescribed uniform although the FCO discourages the use in order to present a more "modern" image of the territories and their links with the UK. In fact I believe Bermuda is the only one where governors still wear the uniform on ceremonial occasions.

Yes, ADC to the Royals.
Libyan police surprises me but on reflection I can see it from the badge. Kind of thought it was Palestine but it didn't quite fit. Thanks Michael.
