New US Marines head gear

The US marines are not happy bunnies over new head gear,
Personally I agree with them.  If you are determined to make an item that’s unisex, why then have male and female versions?
It looks like an attempt to redesign the French kepi, while only succeeding in making it look like a cheep knock-off.

It's a matter of taste, others may like the new kepi hybrid but judging from some of the marines comments I don't think that the design has gone down too well with the rank and file.

I can see why they call it the Dan Daly after the WWI Marine. The caps at that time were much less wide in crown than today. But the proposed new cap is too high, definitely higher than the USMC cap of the 1912 regulations.
