Belgium Congo Force Publique 1950s
There are a number of separate threads on the website devoted to aspects of the Force Publique. I have just stumbled across a Belgian website at http://kitokocongobelge.skyrock.com/archives/ which focuses on this colonial force during the decade before Congolese independence in 1960. During the 1950s the FP was sufficiently highly regarded to appear in Belgium on a number of occasions - including providing a guard for the Royal Palace in 1955. In 2010 the Musee de l'Armee in Brussels organized an exposition devoted to the FP and there are several colour photographs showing actual uniforms worn during this final period of colonial rule.
