Introducing myself

I couldn't find a section for introductions, so here goes.
I've just joined the forum because I've recently re-discovered my interest in glossy 54mm toy soldiers. I have started building a collection based on the various Yeomanry, Volunteer and Militia units of the United Kingdom, and hope to paint current castings, convert available figures, or even make my own, to cover as many units as I can. Information is scattered around many of the county museums, and a lot of them don't know what they have. (Example - I wrote to one about a Volunteer unit Artillery shabraque they had on display, hoping to find out more, and the reply was that they didn;t even know the item was on show!!),.
I shall try to take part in the forums where I can.

I myself have a hobby in painting plastic 54mm figures. I also like the Dragon Models figure kits. Im not that big a fan of metal figures, I find them to be too costly.

I agree that metal kits can be expensive. I tend to be selective and have a small backlog of kits by 'Tradition' and 'Sarum Soldiers' waiting for my attention.
