A photograph with this figure caught my eye so I tried to illustrate it.
A Private in Canada during the early part of the Great War.
An interesting mix.

Sean,
I am aware of the use of the Wolseley helmet by the 48th and the coloured pugaree - which was not worn by officers - but was not aware that it was of tartan material. I had always believed that it was red. What is the authority for the tartan pugaree?
