Military History of Egypt - Carman (1945)

A short illustrated booklet written in Egypt during World War II, to which I have appended LIFE magazine photographs of Egyptian soldiers taken by Margaret Bourke-White in 1940, and one LIFE photograph from 1947. W.Y. Carman later had a long career writing on military history and especially uniforms.

You seem to have found a nice little gem.
I don’t remember ever coming across a copy.
Although someone else probably has six holding the table up.

I recently saw W.Y. Caman's other early booklet, on the Royal Navy, but the price was to me a little inflated for reasons of supposed rarity and age. I'm not inclined to pay much for such factors, and since I assumed the intrinsic uniform information contained within had been several times superseded by later bigger and better produced books, I let the opportunity slide.

I discovered this through the OCLC World Cat, and obtained it on interlibrary loan. A little computer magic removed the library markings to make a more presentable copy for digital posterity.

Can anyone reload this file, please?

Been looking in old files but lost it when hard drive went done.
I've tried searching for another copy without success.
There is a copy of the Egyptian Military Museums book History of the Egyptian Army that's easy to obtain, although I wouldn't rate it as anything more than a museums pamphlet.
