Serif draw4 and photoplus
Since I'm having problems with MR MICROSOFT Ive been looking for a program that's not too power hungry. Looks like my computer is slowly dying, so I'm looking elsewhere, the issue of running into the dred licence problem reinstalling my other programs on a new system [just in case MR M's got his one system licence head on].
The free download of Serif draw does quite well, you can add bitmaps and export the finished item in popular format to use later.
Photo plus gets a little frustrating but for a free program who's complaining.
The upgrades aint a bad price to buy if you like the free ones.
The free programs can take some finding but I believe it's worthwhile.

Interesting, I will have to check this program out.
Have you looked into OpenOffice.org to replace Microsoft Office? I highly suggest it and its the same familiar format.

Open Office
The short answer Chris is yes, only problem I found is that I'm a lazy sod who's too set in his ways.
One shortfall that I did find was the condition format in calc was difficult and limited, a small fault but I happen to use condition formating quite a lot.
Years ago I swore by Corel, only because I have a major beef with Microsofts spy in the sky philosopy and their forcing people to upgrade due a lack support for older products [over priced products that affords Mr G a retimement income larger than most states]
I would go back to Corel in a flash if they got their act together.
The freebies of Serif are a little behind the times but the offers on the up-todate stuff are quite good if you like what you see.
Let me know what you think!
