Montenegrin umiforms 1876-78 ?
Did the Montenegrin military wear any uniforms during the 1876-78 conflict with the Ottomans ?
I think at this time the military was still mainly a mllitia.

In books about the first world war there’s mention of many of the officers and men fighting in national costume.
The only images I’ve seen, which isn’t many, for the Montenegro/Ottoman war appears to have the Montenegrin forces dressed in what appears to be national/tribal uniforms.
Someone with more knowledge on the subject may be able to give you a more informative answer.
The image below, which I'm sure that you have seen before, appears to show the army dressed in national/tribal dress.

The Montenegrins didn't adopt an actual uniform until 1910. Until then, they wore the national dress.

Major De Witt Clinton's book Falls book (Army and Navy Recognition, 1917), has this image;

The book also states that the army didn't have a uniform until the end of the Balkan war in 1912, and that the uniform issued was of Italian cut, and Russian colour.
I believe that some of the reserves/militia still weren't issued with a uniform by the start of WWI.
