Azerbaijan Democratic Republic 1918-20

Some illustrations from an article in the Russian magazine TSEIKHGAUZ, Issue 40-41, 2011, on uniforms of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, 1918-20.

Definite mix of Russian, Turkish, and possibly some German items. The plate of the infantryman is a prime example- a Turkish tunic, trousers, and puttees with Russian Mosin-Nagant rifle and belt, cartridge pouch, and entrenching tool, though I'm not sure about the hat, which could be a local item.

All in all typical dress for the armies of newly formed states.
