A new uniform was designed for the 1937 contingent.
The jacket was distinctive with its fall collar and red embellishments.
The puggaree has two folds of red as well as copious emu plumes.
The entire contingent were equipped as for mounted troops, and wore their original colour patch on the shoulders.

The Rising Sun badge is worn on the collar and hat brim.
